Q: Who is the HIDDEN MAN?
A: You tell me :^)
Q: No but really, WHO IS THE HIDDEN MAN???
A: The HIDDEN MAN is a friendly entity who
lives in the vast forest preserves of Hidden
Lakes, Illinois. People think of him as sort
of a bigfoot-type guy. But I assure you he
exists. I don’t know if Bigfoot exists (and I
have studied him extensively), but the HIDDEN MAN is definitely the “real deal.” He is sort of a “cryptid,” if you will.
Q: How long has the HIDDEN MAN been around?
A: There are many different answers to this question. People around town have seem him for sometimes many decades. Others have lived here their whole lives and are just recently finding out about his existence. And one can research certain ancient cultures who have stories about a similar entity, going back hundreds of years…
Q: Why does he live in the woods?
A: It's easier to hide there! Can you imagine trying to hide in Costco? Well, I guess he has been known to hang out in department stores. But when he does that he isn't hiding, more like wreaking havoc. LOL!
Q: I've heard that he is dangerous/wild/angry? Is this true?
A: It's true, there are many recounts of the HIDDEN MAN taking a mean or threatening aura. If you happen to find yourself confronted with the Hidden Man, use caution. But please do not provoke him. He is not necessarily always angry, and like I said, he is ultimately a friendly entity. Use your intuition to feel out the situation and decide if you should run, or if you should try to interact with him (he may not always be up for this!)
Q: If he's so friendly then why does he sometimes hurt people?
A: I think that he never hurts on purpose. Even if he is very deliberately being hurtful, there is some other thing at play in the situation. I think that he is on a mission and that he will do whatever it takes to acccomplish that mission
Q: Why does he live like this and do the things that he does?
A: He's on a mission from God.
Q: It seems like he hates society? If he wants to live in the woods, why doesn't he go into the actual woods and not a forest preserve in the middle of a big suburb?
A: There is work to be done that could not be accomplished living so remotely from civilization.
Q: My (uncle/cousin/nephew/whatever) said the HIDDEN MAN is a (alien/monster/normal-but-crazy guy/something-or-other). What is the HIDDEN MAN really?
A: If I had a serviceable answer to this question, I would share it.
Q: Why does it seem like no one can agree on what the HIDDEN MAN is?
A: There are many different answers to this question.
Q: Has the HIDDEN MAN ever been caught?
A: No. It is impossible to catch the HIDDEN MAN. It's in the name! He's HIDDEN! However, there are people ("imposters") being caught all the time who claim to be the real HIDDEN MAN. But they are nothing but that: "imposters"!!!
Q: How do I know if I've seen the real Hidden Man?
A: It's true, there are many imposters. I think it is because of how easy it is to replicate the sort of things he dresses in, all of which can be found around thrift stores, dumpsters, scrap yards, etc. But you will know when you've seen the real one. WHen you see the bona fide HIDDEN MAN in-person, there is an aura, it's very different than sometimes when you see the imposters
Q: What if the imposters have an aura too?
A: You are making me angry!!
Q: I have seen the HIDDEN MAN directly. There is something about the experience that I want explained or can’t stop thinking about.

Q: Who are you and why should I care?
A: HA! You are a funny one. I am Oracle Joe, the webmaster. I am a cryptozoologist, board game designer, occasional musician, and many other things that I prefer not speak of. I like to cook with natural ingredients. I go more in detail about myself in this news entry. I don’t like to go too much into my personal life on this site. That’s what facebook and whatnot is for! (I have neither facebook nor whatnot, FYI).
Q: Why did you start this website?
A: To spread the word. Before this website, there was no one seriously documenting the HIDDEN MAN, and I thought it needed to be done.
Q: How do you know so much about the HIDDEN MAN?
A: I speak with him frequently. Sometimes, he asks that I speak for him, or that he speaks through me. That is why they call me the Oracle!
Q: But you just said you don't know what he is?
A: There are many ways to speak, my friend, without seeing the other person, or even knowing if the other person is really there (kind of like we are doing now). Especially with today's technology.
I have a very strange communion with the one known as the HIDDEN MAN, one that even I cannot accurately explain in the King's English. I cannot say for certain what he is, where he came from, why he does the things he does, or to what end.
Q: Well if he doesn't tell you any of that, what do you even talk about?
A: Just the weather, mostly :^)
