WHO IS ORACLE JOE?

posted by ORACLE JOE on 02/16/10

Hello friends,

Ever since the forum first went up, I have been getting emails from people who are curious about this mysterious “webmaster” “oracle” that is running this website and talking to you all on email. I can tell you I do not mean to come across as so mysterious! My name is Joe. I am a huge HIDDEN MAN enthusiast. I have lived in Hidden Lakes for pretty much all my life (my mother moved us here when I was 5). Here is a picture of my mug:

I thought, since people seem interested in this web page, and interested in the so-called, “man behind the mystery” (haha) that I would take out a news item to introduce myself. Some of you may already know some of these bits about myself, for instance if we knew each other previously or if we have talked a little bit on the forum. I try to be an active member of the HIDDEN MAN community! In part by building this website all by myself in HTML and CSS, and little bit of javascript. I am a software developer by trade. I’m glad to see my skills being put to good use, before this website there were not many people outside of Hidden Lakes that knew about the HIDDEN MAN.

For more than a few years I have also been involved in many Bigfoot/monster hunting exhibitions out west, and the greater cryptozoology community. I know there is some debate as to whether or not the HIDDEN MAN can be described as a “cryptid” like mothman and Yetis and such, but I think, even if he isn’t a “proper” “cryptid” (or a cryptid at all), that that word is probably the most apt to describe what he is. Plus, I like to research other mysterious creatures as well, even thought the HIDDEN MAN is probably my main area of research. Currently I am very interested in the Enfield Monster downstate in the eponymous town.

You can definitely say that the HIDDEN MAN was a big part in my development as a person. I have never had a significant experience with him, but people started hearing and seeing him right when I was still pretty young. As a younin’, I just loved the mystery of it all. Running around the dark depths of the forests in town, looking for him, not caring if I did or not, and just letting my imagination go wild. Mysteries are probably my favorite thing. I like to explore the unknown sides of life, breathe it all in and try to find the answers hidden in the everyday. I like to get deep. If we ever talk in person, I would love to talk more with you, and see if maybe we can teach each other something.

I also play a mean theremin ,':^) Don’t be a stranger! Please write to me on the contact page, or be on the lookout for my musings on the forum.

-Joe
